“i’d rather be a worm” - pencil on paper, 5 drawings 80 × 40cm
a narrative piece that serves as a surreal revenge fantasy, subverting the expectation that a women is most free when she is most beuaitfula dn desired by a man. Instead of a “would you love me if I was a worm?” perhaps its time to say I would rather be a worm than be with a man.
in this tale, A woman decides to learn how to do the worm, and does it so well she actually turns into one. despite her new, seemingly unappealing form, she feels free. That is, up until a man guided proudly by a savior complex induced and a nike slogan, decides that she needs rescuing and takes her home planning to marry her. instead of a classic fairytale ending she chooses to cut her worm form in half and flee back to the worm world while the man runs off on a futile chase of the half she sacrificed to flee him.
